Chinese Language Citizenship Outreach Webinar - February 16, Thursday

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invites you to attend the first national Chinese-language public engagement at the San Francisco Field Office on Thursday, February 16, 2012 hosted by the Office of Public Engagement. This engagement is the first in a series called “Jiao Liu” — meaning “engagement” in Chinese. Each “Jiao Liu” will focus on a specific immigration or citizenship topic and include a Q&A session with USCIS officials.

Chinese Art Performances - February 5, Sunday

The Confucius Institute at UTSA will present Chinese Art Performances at Jo Long Theater by UIBE Art Troupe from China on Sunday, February 5. Performance programs include the well-renowned Chinese martial art, stunning acrobatics shows, face change magic, fascinating Chinese folk dances, Beijing opera, violin and songs.

San Antonio Museum of Art Celebrates Year of the Dragon - January 26, 5:30pm-8pm

San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) cordially invites you to attend the upcoming cocktail hour on January 26 celebrating the Chinese New Year and the exhibition 5,000 Years of Chinese Jade. SAMA will have Jade exhibition open exclusively to attendants during the cocktail hour.

CSSA Chinese New Year Gala - January 21, Saturday, 2012

To welcome the Year of the Dragon and kick off the most exciting Chinese New Year celebration event in San Antonio, the Chinese Society of San Antonio (CSSA) will host a fun-filled grand celebration gala on January 21, 2012 at Norris Conference Center. Following the fine dinner at the gala, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the wonderful and fun-filled entertaining programs including folk dance, music performance, kids dance, choir, riddles, games and many more fun festivities. We will have ballroom dance this year. Door prizes (total worth $750) will be given out to lucky CSSA members and grand prizes (total worth $1500) will be drawn during the ballroom dance. There will be a family holiday portrait photo section at the gala with the traditional Chinese New Year background. Bring your family and friends to enjoy an unforgettable Chinese New Year celebration evening together.

5, 000 Years of Chinese Jade - Oct.1, 2011 - Feb.19, 2012

中国古玉展The San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) has announced the forthcoming exhibition 5,000 Years of Chinese Jade Featuring Selections from the National Museum of History, Taiwan and the Arthur M. Sackler Collection, Smithsonian Institution. This major international exhibition organized by SAMA opens in the Museum’s Cowden Gallery on October 1, 2011. The exhibition is held in conjunction with the City of San Antonio’s yearlong celebration of Taiwan.

CSSA Casino Night Event - November 5, Saturday 2011 - San Antonio

賭城之夜!!!The Chinese Society of San Antonio will host its annual Casino Night event this year on November 5th at Fortune Cookie Chinese Restaurant. The games will include Texas Hold’em, Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, Mahjong, Dice, and kids programs, etc. This is a CSSA social event, both members and non-members are welcome to join us. Bring your family and friends to the casino night and have a great time together, everyone will come out as a winner!

Chinese Memorial Mural Dedication Ceremony - Sept 25, Sunday 2-4:30pm

中国古代壁画展A Chinese memorial mural will be installed at San Antonio River near the “San Antonio Museum of Art Landing” later this month. This mural is to commemorate the early Chinese railroad workers for their contribution in Texas history.

CSSA Moon Festival Celebration - September 10, Saturday

花好月圓共度中秋!!!The Moon Festival is one of the most celebrated festivities in Chinese culture. This year the Chinese Society of San Antonio will host the Moon Festival Celebration on September 10th at the beautiful facility of the Vineyards Pavilion. The whole facility will be available, including swimming pool, basketball court, and playground. This evening is for entire family and friends to celebrate the Moon Festival and to have a great time together, enjoying good food, good time, and the brightest moon of the year.

The Chinese Society of San Antonio was established over 20 years ago by a group of Chinese immigrants who wanted to encourage communication between the Chinese community in San Antonio while promoting Chinese culture through the sponsorship of social and cultural activities. CSSA is a non-religious, non-political, and non-profit organization.
