wl

Welcome to the CSSA Web Site! If you are new to our website, I encourage you to explore our website and learn more about CSSA and the services it offers.

It is with great honor to serve as the 2013 President of CSSA.  I am appreciative for the opportunity to lead this great organization, and the trust that our members have placed upon me.

I have been a CSSA member since 2007, served as CSSA Secretary since 2009. I have always enjoyed participating as a member, and as a volunteer in CSSA.

Chinese Society of San Antonio has more than 30 years of history. For more than three decades, many volunteers and members have devoted their time and their hearts to this organization. Their commitment, sacrifice, perseverance and dedication have inspired several generations of leaders who have built CSSA to be the diverse social organization that it is today.

As always, we welcome new members with open arms. We invite you to be part of our CSSA family and to participate in the community, no matter where you came from, no matter what language you speak.  As a CSSA member, you will have opportunity to participate in many social and cultural activities and events throughout the year.  Each year, CSSA publishes a Member Directory, and we also send email to our members to keep them informed of upcoming events.  We encouraged you to provide us an email address in order for us to stay connected with you.

I’m deeply grateful to the CSSA leadership team for their dedication, advice and support.  I will work closely with this team, and find ways to better serve our members and our community.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any questions.

Again, thank you for visiting CSSA website.

Letter from the President of CSSA - 2012

Welcome to the CSSA website!

The Chinese Society of San Antonio was established in 1983, and has been growing in membership every year thanks to your continued support. Through the participation of many volunteers, CSSA has been able to either sponsor or participate in many cultural and social activities each year. We welcome new members with open arms, and hope you can become a part of San Antonio's multi-cultural, vibrant Chinese community.  If you are a first time visitor, please take a tour and see what CSSA has to offer.

I have been a member of the Chinese Society for several years now.  I have really enjoyed my membership.  I have met new friends that I would not have met otherwise.  When I was asked to become the President of the Chinese Society, it was truly an honor.  Being the first Non-Chinese President has given me a new insight to the Chinese people I have never known.  I can tell you that in my time with CSSA, I have learned about the wonderful Chinese culture.  Also, as I look around I am always humbled by the Chinese People.    So many Chinese come to the United States with very little and achieve so much.  They work hard, learn the language, and become leaders in our community.  Just here in San Antonio we have several business leaders, and also one of our Chinese members is a City Council member.

I will work hard, and with the help of our dedicated staff and advisory group, we will try to make 2012 the best year ever.

I am truly honored to serve as the 2012 President for CSSA.

Thank you!

Welcome to the CSSA website!

If you are a first time visitor, please take a tour and see what CSSA has to offer.

The Chinese Society of San Antonio was established in 1983, and has been growing in paid-membership every year thanks to your continued support. Through the participation of many volunteers, CSSA has been able to either sponsor or participate in many cultural and social activities each year. We welcome new members with open arms, and hope you can become a part of San Antonio's multi-cultural, vibrant Chinese community.

Our annual membership dues are very modest, and the money goes towards all of the exciting events we hold throughout the year, as well as the production and distribution of the annual member directory to each family. Please visit the Home Page and Newsletter sections of the website to obtain the most up-to-date information on upcoming events. Please also visit the Photo Gallery for snapshots from some of our many activities.

With a large, dedicated staff made up of 5 board of directors, 10 officers, and an advisory group, we are hard at work throughout the year to bring our members some new and exciting activities for 2011.

We welcome fresh ideas and input from our current and prospective members to make our organization better each year. Please feel free to contact me or Vice-President Bob Johnson with your input and guidance.

I am truly honored to serve as the 2011 President for CSSA.

Thank you!
